Students who are self-isolating due to Covid should inform their teacher(s) they are self-isolating because of Covid. If leaners are well enough to learn, their study can continue in various ways:

  • In some classes, lessons on site will be run through Teams (or Google Classroom/Discord) so that they can join the class from home
  • The materials used in the lesson will be shared via Teams and/or Moodle
  • If learners have been paired with a study buddy in their class, they are to contact them to double-check the learning that is taking place
  • On some occasions, lessons may be recorded to watch afterwards

Where learning for a whole class/cohort is being delivered online because of a Covid outbreak

  • Teachers will contact their students to confirm which platform will be used to deliver learning (it will usually be Teams)
  • Lessons will be delivered in their normal timetabled slots – if this changes, students will be informed
  • Learning will include assessment and feedback (this may include online quizzes and assessments as well as the use of platforms like Padlet)
  • Learning may also include using other platforms (e.g. GCSE Pod, Moodle, YouTube)
  • Online learning is to be valued as highly as face-to-face learning
  • If the teacher is unwell and cannot teach, learners will be set work to complete independently
