The Career Ready Programme has been going strong with the further development of our students through their mentoring relationships and master classes.
This is the perfect time for students to hone they skills and they recently took part in a virtual ‘interview skills’ workshop, delivered by recruitment agency, M People, based at Westminster City College. This proved to be a successful innovative and collaborative project.
LSBU’s Business Development Manager also hosted a career session focused on how to secure apprenticeship opportunities. This included apprenticeship entry requirements, how to write good quality applications and tips on how to stand out from the competition. Students gained awareness of the job opportunities available through our LSBU network and were encouraged to apply.
Moving Matters delivered a talk, mainly targeted at our Sports students and heard from a Senior Primary PE Specialist. The session aimed to inspire students through the speaker's career paths, aspirations, essential skills to work in the sport industry and interview skills.
Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd and B3Media also delivered Industry talks to give students a better insight into their respective sector of choice including professional practice and career pathways.
