Are you looking to take your first step towards a career as a painter and decorator in the construction industry? Are you looking for a course that will teach you about painting, decorating, papering, and general building? Then look no further, because this is the qualification for you.
You will be taught via practical hands-on sessions in our workshop, and classroom-based theory lessons, where you will learn about everything from brush and roller painting techniques, erecting and dismantling access equipment, applying foundation and plain paper and producing decorative finishes, right through to the basic principles of building, and health and safety in construction.
Whether you're looking to advance on to further study, seek an apprenticeship, or go straight into employment, the Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating will teach you the basic knowledge, skills and techniques you need to become a confident and professional painter and decorator.
Note - Safety boots and painters Bib-Brace are required, along with pens, pencils and a City and Guilds Level 1 Painting and Decorating book.
All 16-18 years old who do not have min GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional skills in both English and maths will be required to study English and maths alongside their vocational qualification. Additionally you will be required to complete min 45 hours of work experience.
