As part of the LSBU Group, a recent adventure planned by the dynamic Work Experience Team at South Bank Colleges, Level 3 Business and Level 2 IT students were treated to a Business Experience Day at London South Bank University (LSBU) making a lasting impact on their academic journey.

The day unfolded with the students delving into the courses offered by LSBU's Business School. Exploring the complexities of marketing and finance management, the students developed a comprehensive understanding of the diverse subjects offered by the university.

But the trip didn't stop there. The students were tasked with a challenge that ignited their creativity and collaborative spirit — creating an app for a social enterprise. Divided into three groups, each cohort brainstormed innovative ideas that could potentially shape the future.

Group 1: EazySmart - Redefining Lunch Breaks
Group 1 created EazySmart, which is a revolutionary application designed to expedite the school lunch experience. No more waiting in queues – students can now access their meals swiftly while conveniently managing bursaries directly through the app.

Group 2: Dirty Environment - Mapping a Cleaner Future
Enter Group 2 with their groundbreaking app, Dirty Environment. Aimed at promoting a cleaner world, this application helps users locate nearby bins, fostering a more sustainable and environmentally conscious community.

Group 3: Climatik - Empowering Change
Lastly, Group 3 presented Climatik, an app designed to equip users with essential resources to understand the urgency of climate change and guide them in making a positive impact.

As the day unfolded, the students not only absorbed valuable knowledge but also expressed their enthusiasm. Quotes like "It was a lot more interesting compared to another university I went to" and "the whole experience was good" echoed through the group. The prospect of pursuing business at LSBU resonated with many, with some considering it as their next educational milestone.

In their own words, the students described the trip as "beneficial" and expressed varying degrees of interest in continuing their journey in the world of business, with LSBU firmly on their radar. This immersive experience not only fuelled their academic curiosity but also left them with a taste for the vibrant potential of their future careers.
